Our dedication to providing you with excellent service
throughout your entire move or storage event begins with our
dedication to employee training. Whether a new or existing
employee, every Hilldrup team member is provided with many training
opportunities that allow everyone in the organization to provide
the high quality service that we are known for within the moving
and storage industry. Our training initiatives include:
The Center for Training and Employee
Development
This training center at our Stafford headquarters provides a new
level of commitment to training that is unique within our industry.
The Hilldrup Center for Training and Employee Development provides
an opportunity for our employees to learn how to pack, load,
transport, unload and unpack with our furniture, in our house,
using our van – not the customers. This unique training facility
offers:
- 10,000 square feet of training space
- A fully furnished two-bedroom house
- A moving van
- Storage vaults
- Overseas containers
- Theater style seating for up to 200 people
The Quality Labor Certification Program
All employees are required to complete a training program that
includes orientation classes, packing classes and moving classes.
All classes are taught by certified trainers. Hilldrup service
employees must complete tests on each section in order to
successfully finish the program. Upon completing the training,
employees enter into the Coaches Program to work alongside an
experienced crew member.
Hilldrup University
Hilldrup University currently offers two majors for employees:
business skills and moving skills.
Business skill courses include customer service skills,
communication techniques, management methods, and team building
practices. All Move Counselors are required to complete the
Customer Service Skills Certification courses and encouraged to
take additional courses as needs arise.
Moving skill courses include The Basic Move, Basic Wrapping and
Non-Allowables.
Ultimately, all of our training at Hilldrup is focused on
specialized customer care. In order to provide the best service
available in the moving industry, we understand our employees must
have access to extensive, continuous training. Our employees not
only receive comprehensive training when they join the team; they
are provided avenues to continually improve their skills and learn
new techniques to assist them in better serving each customer. We
realize that in order to remain competitive in today‘s marketplace,
we must be proactive in our approach to training and equipping our
employees to handle the day-to-day moving services performed inside
and outside the office. By developing new programs and systems, and
enhancing current processes, our employees are always prepared to
offer dynamic, professional customer service.
