Residential Move Process
Your household goods move is coordinated in three steps:
Plan Your Move; Pack and Load; Delivery; Unload and Unpack.
Your Hilldrup Move Counselor will be with you every step of the way
to help make your move as smooth and stress free as possible.
Step 1: Plan Your Move
When you contact Hilldrup Moving & Storage, you will be
assigned a Move Counselor who will be your single point of contact
throughout the entire process. Your counselor will gather all
pertinent information about your move, including contact
information, and schedule an in-house, no-obligation estimate
appointment.
A certified mover estimator will come to
your house to conduct an estimate and will print out the estimate
for you to review while in your home.
Your Move Counselor will contact you to review the estimate with
you and send you a revised estimate if any changes are discussed.
In addition to the estimate, any helpful destination information
that you have requested will be sent.
Your Move Counselor will call you to develop your move plan,
confirm pack and load dates, any third party services (if needed),
and delivery dates.
Your counselor will also contact you 24 hours prior to the first
scheduled pack day to advise you of your crews expected arrival
time.
Step 2: Pack and Load
If Hilldrup is packing your household goods, your Move Counselor
will contact you on each pack day to offer assistance, answer
additional questions and generally ensure that your move is
proceeding as planned.

On the moving day, the van operator will inventory all items as
they are loaded on the moving truck. You will receive an inventory
form to sign.
Your Move Counselor will contact you and confirm the delivery
address and destination telephone numbers.
From pickup until delivery, your shipment will be closely
monitored and tracked to ensure our compliance with all agreed and
commitments. During shipment, you can
track the status of your goods at anytime on our website.
Step 3: Delivery, Unload and Unpack
On delivery day, you will meet your household mover at your new
residence in order to complete delivery. The van operator
will require payment at your new residence. Hilldrup van operators
will accept cash, certified check, traveler’s check, or credit card
(when arranged in advance).
As your
household belongings are being unloaded from the truck, you will
note them on the Inventory Form. In the event of any loss or
damage, please note the items involved on the Inventory Form. Once
the delivery has been completed, you will be required to sign the
Inventory Form and all delivery documents.
If Hilldrup is providing unpacking services, your Move Counselor
will call you to confirm that the crew is there and answer any
additional questions you have. Additionally, the claims process is
discussed in greater detail if needed.
After your move is complete you will receive a Customer Service
Survey from United Van Lines. We appreciate your honest and
complete feedback so that we can accurately gauge our service
quality levels and identify any areas for improvement.
