When Hilldrup Orlando is presented with an opportunity that allows us to use our resources to give back to the community where we live and work, we can’t help but jump onboard. Recently, Ed Fitzgerald, VP and General Manager, Orlando, was contacted by Donna Haynes, Development Director at the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. to help local kids in need.
The Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association is a nonprofit charity in downtown Orlando that provides free civil legal services to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. To assist with their mission, Hilldrup provided the moving and storage services required to transport donated items from Kissimmee, FL to downtown Orlando, FL. The donated items included 39 children’s suitcases, 108 backpacks and 160 lunchboxes, which were sorted in preparation for the pick-up. Once these items were delivered to the Legal Aid Society in Orlando, they were then distributed to kids in need.
“We’re happy to help when and where we can,” described Ed Fitzgerald. “A man and a truck are a small price as compared to the reality of some of the circumstances these children are currently in. We’re glad we could assist!”
