As 2014 approaches, it’s difficult not to look back on 2013 and appreciate the year we just had. As always, there were reasons to celebrate and stories to share. Before we move onto the New Year, we’d like to revisit some of our fondest moments.

Hilldrup continued its tradition of serving its local communities. In fact, our Stafford, Va. office alone raised more than $47,000 for the Rappahannock United Way. This is in addition to our work with Move For Hunger, where we encourage customers to leave unwanted cans of non-perishable food so we can collect them to donate to local food banks. We collected more than 3,400 pounds this year.

One of our more unique moves was for the Ringling Brothers’ Circus, where members of our team spent a week moving historic pieces of old Ringling Brothers Circus productions from Baraboo, Wisconsin to Florida. If moving human canons wasn’t fascinating enough, our client contact was actually the first female graduate of Ringling Brothers’ clown college. If you missed the post before, it’s definitely worth a read.

And although we just shared this news, we’re still thrilled of our nineteenth-consecutive Customer Choice Award. We can’t say thank you enough to all of you for this distinction. Of all the awards to receive, every year this one means the most because of what it says about your appreciation of our work.

Lastly, Hilldrup continued its global impact, moving clients to 157 countries. Again, it was a busy and impressive year. The constant throughout all these stories and accolades is our commitment to you, our customers, and we’re excited about working with you all next year. We expect 2014 to be an exciting year, as we celebrate 50 years as a United Van Lines agent. We hope you have enjoyed the wonderful holiday season so far and have a safe and happy New Year.
