October is awards season for the moving industry, as nearly 1,000 agents attended the UniGroup annual convention in Scottsdale, Arizona, where the top performers were honored for outstanding service. And we have some exciting announcements we want to share!
For starters, Hilldrup Van Operator Bob Fitzgerald, known to many colleagues and clients as Fitz, was named the 2015 Van Operator of the Year for United Van Lines! During a 12-month period, Fitz drove over 66,000 miles, which is more than the circumference of the Earth’s equator! All while maintaining a perfect safety record.
The award is based on customer satisfaction scores, claims and driver safety ratings. As Fitz shares in the video below, “I like to call the customer the night before to see how they are and ask if they have something special that needs special handling.” With an attitude like that, it’s no wonder he’s the van operator of the year.
A Hilldrup Van Operator has now received this award for two of the last four years. Our previous winner, Dennis Putnam Jr., received the award in 2012.
In keeping with the theme of multiple winners, Hilldrup received its 21st Customer Choice Award! This award recognizes the top agent in each category with the highest customer satisfaction scores, reflecting their dedication to excellent service. Winning it 21 times is a record-setting achievement that has never been accomplished by another United Van Lines agent. We couldn’t be prouder of our team for such an impressive run of unparalleled dedication to customer service!
In addition to the Customer Choice Award, Hilldrup also received several top honors, including:
- President’s Club Award: Hilldrup was the 3rd largest producing UniGroup agent (among nearly 1,000 companies) with more than $52 million in revenue.
- Hauling Award: Hilldrup was the 3rd largest household goods hauler (i.e., greatest hauling revenue) for United Van Lines.
- Sales Achievement Awards for Residential, National Account and International: Hilldrup was the No. 1 national account agent and No. 2 residential agent for all of United Van Lines, and the No. 1 agent in the international category for UniGroup.
- Performance Excellence Award: This awards those agents with the best overall customer service and claims scores.
While we don’t serve our customers just to receive awards and distinctions, it’s always nice to see that our customers feel they are receiving the top-notch care and service we strive to provide in all of our moves!
