Celebrating Our Rappahannock United Way 2021 – 2022 Campaign Success
Congratulations to Team Hilldrup and MacKenzie Pope who were honored with All-Star Awards during Rappahannock United Way’s recent luncheon event!
Although I received this award, the campaign was definitely a team effort and we could not have had the campaign success that we did without Remus Boxley, Jordan McDaniel, Ingrid Wynn, Darcy Duxbury and Kim Sarratt!

Giving back to the communities where we live and work is engrained in Hilldrup’s company culture and legacy. But our impact is multiplied many times over thanks to Rappahannock United Way (RUW), who is leading the charge when it comes to improving the lives of those who live in the Fredericksburg area and its surrounding communities. Recently, Hilldrup had the opportunity to celebrate the success of our campaign, and those who made it all possible, with our fellow RUW workplace sponsors!
Last fall, Hilldrup virtually kicked off our 2021 – 2022 RUW campaign as part of our continued commitment of giving back and supporting the outreach that RUW offers to those in need. Our campaign activities were each inspired by this year’s theme, Music to Inspire Giving. The creative, virtual games included scavenger hunts, bingo, a silent auction, and much more. These activities simply wouldn’t have been made possible without the support of our Employee Campaign Coordinator (ECC), MacKenzie Pope, and each of our RUW Committee Members!
MacKenzie shared, “One activity from our Music to Inspire Giving campaign that was my favorite was “The Heart Won’t Lie” Two Truths and a Lie – SMG edition because it was a fun way to learn more about our leaders and to see what all of our employees’ guesses were.”
To celebrate the success of RUW’s 2021 – 2022 campaign, workplace sponsors were invited to attend a luncheon at FredNats Stadium. During the luncheon, awards were presented to the campaign coordinators and volunteers as well as the businesses who participated in RUW’s campaign success.
Hilldrup was recognized with an All-Star Award, which is presented to the company who fundraised the highest amount from $10,000 – $40,000 for RUW. Our campaign donations reached over $31,000 in total – way to go, Team Hilldrup!
In addition, our very own MacKenzie Pope was the recipient of the All-Star ECC Award! This accolade is presented to the ECC who motivated their colleagues to raise close to $40,000 during their workplace campaign through their creativity, inspiration and team-focused approach.
“Being the recipient of The All-Star ECC Award means a lot to me because a lot of time, effort and creativity went into Hilldrup’s campaign. Being that our employees were remote, we had to find ways to encourage them to participate, keep them engaged, and give them an experience they would have in the office,” explained MacKenzie. “Although I received this award, the campaign was definitely a team effort and we could not have had the campaign success that we did without Remus Boxley, Jordan McDaniel, Ingrid Wynn, Darcy Duxbury and Kim Sarratt!”

Thanks to the generosity of local corporations and employee donors, Rappahannock United Way (RUW) continues to BE THERE for the community’s greatest needs through RUW programs and services. To celebrate the workplace campaign successes of the 2021 – 2022 season, a luncheon and awards presentation was held at FredNats Stadium in Fredericksburg, VA.
