Chamber of Commerce: 25 Years of Membership & Benevolence in Business Award
At the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce quarterly meeting in July, Hilldrup was recognized for 25 years of membership and honored with the Benevolence in Business Award.
Hilldrup’s participation in Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce’s Member Meeting in July included recognition of our 25 years of membership with the Chamber – plus an unexpected surprise!
Hilldrup was honored with one of the Chamber’s We Mean Business Awards, which serves to spotlight the work, drive and resilience of local business owners, leaders and employees that have made their organizations successful. The specific categories for this award include: Most Innovative, Best in Tech and Benevolence in Business.
We’re thrilled to share that Hilldrup was the recipient of the Commerce’s 2022 Benevolence in Business Award! This accolade is defined and presented to a business that has: an exceptional brand, a strong reputation and community/business outreach. What makes this award even more special is that it is voted on by our fellow Chamber Members. We’re honored by this recognition, especially as it comes from our outstanding and fellow business peers!
The Chamber brought together businesses leaders from across Fredericksburg and its surrounding areas to Stevenson Ridge for a savory breakfast and the highly anticipated awards presentation. Linda Rivera, Vice President of Quality and Customer Relations & Chamber of Commerce Board Member, joined Jordan McDaniel Hinkebein, Marketing Director, who were in both in attendance to represent Hilldrup during the event. While we were aware Hilldrup would be highlighted as a 25-year Member, the Benevolence in Business Award was an exciting surprise!
As shared during the Member Meeting:
Hilldrup has been in the Fredericksburg area for almost 120 years, and giving back is inherent to the company. The organization has an internal committee called Hilldrup Cares that vets community partnership opportunities and also has The Hilldrup Move-Up Fund that was created in 2019 and was developed to empower individuals and their families who need a “hand-up” to a more favorable situation. By providing a stepping-stone to a better future, recipients of the fund can feel empowered and hopeful to create additional positive life changes for the betterment of themselves and their families. With the support of The Community Foundation and local non-profit partners, the Hilldrup Move-Up Fund specifically assists those with housing needs who may not have the resources to address time-sensitive issues. Hilldrup identifies families who:
- Are in a situation where funding would make a significant difference in the family’s life,
- Where the funding or support provided will solve a problem of urgent or immediate need, or
- Where funding will help the family maintain secure housing.
The Hilldrup Move-Up Fund has also proudly supported the work of Servants At Work (SAWs), which builds and installs mobility ramps to those in need across our local community.
Thank you to the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce leadership and our fellow members for this wonderful award. We’re honored to work alongside the Chamber to continue to make the Fredericksburg area the best place to live, work and play!
