Hilldrup Branches Transport Nearly 7,000 Pounds of Food for Move for Hunger
Thanks to our Atlanta, Greenville and Raleigh teams, over 5700 meals were delivered to local communities in 2020.
Hilldrup’s Atlanta, Greenville and Raleigh-Durham branches collected and transported 6,926 pounds of food, equating to 5,772 meals, for those in our local communities in 2020. We’ve been honored to be a partner of Move For Hunger, without whom these donations wouldn’t be possible, for several years. Move For Hunger works with moving and relocation companies across the U.S. to collect non-perishable food items from customers who are moving and then works with companies like Hilldrup to transport those donations to local food banks. With all the unknowns surrounding the health crisis last year, 2020 was a critical year for our partnership to ensure that we could give back in any way possible!
Hilldrup’s three biggest branch contributors included:
- Hilldrup Atlanta with 5,803 pounds of food, which equates to 4,836 meals
- Hilldrup Greenville with 600 pounds of food, which equates to 500 meals
- Hilldrup Raleigh-Durham with 523 pounds of food, which equates to 436 meals
In 2020, Move For Hunger partnered with GoGo squeeZ applesauce, to support first responders, local schools and food banks across the U.S. to fuel their days. Atlanta’s Kathleen Toney, Commercial Services Coordinator, and Ed Haeussler, Vice President and General Manager, helped coordinate the transportation of GoGo squeeZ to several schools in the Atlanta area in May and to multiple schools and places of worship in July.
Since our partnership with Move For Hunger began, Hilldrup has helped collect and deliver 70,807 pounds of food which has helped provide 59,006 meals to those in need. Special congratulations goes out to our Atlanta, Greenville and Raleigh-Durham teams for their outstanding work. We’re honored to work with the great team at Move For Hunger, and we look forward to working together to continue supporting those in our local communities!
