Robert “Bob” Fitzgerald Honored by United Van Lines for February 2024
Congratulations to Robert “Bob” Fitzgerald for being recognized as United’s Van Operator of the Month for February 2024!
An industry veteran and Hilldrup celebrity of sorts, Robert “Bob” Fitzgerald has been honored as a Van Operator of the Month for February 2024 by United Van Lines! Bob has been a professional within Hilldrup Stafford’s Long-Distance team since February 1996. Ever since, his customers, clients and fellow Van Operators have been relying on his experience and professionalism to keep things moving safely and efficiently both on and off the road.
To qualify for Van Operator of the Month, a Van Operator must meet or exceed a range of statistical criteria that encompasses the Van Operator’s performance.
To be eligible for this accolade, the Van Operator must:
- Be qualified in the UniGroup system, the parent company of Mayflower Transit, for the previous 12 months;
- Log more than 25,000 miles in the previous 12 months;
- Must be a 1-Rated van operator at time of selection;
- Earn a Safety Performance Rating (SPR) rating of at least 10,000;
- Have no more than 6.0 total points in VTOP, or Van Operator Total Performance, as part of an online system that keeps track of Van Operators SPR points and overall rating and
- Have zero Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) points in last 12 months and less than 30 CSA points for past two years.
Bob is no stranger to national acclaim for his outstanding career as a professional Van Operator. Bob was recognized in 2018 as the American Moving and Storage Association’s (AMSA) Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and was United Van Lines’ 2015 Van Operator of the Year. He has been recognized countless times as a Van Operator of the Month Runner-Up as well.
Bob shared, “What I like most about my job is when a customer that has had a bad experience with moving companies sees my crews and I in action and then, within 30 minutes, know how true professionals operate. Their whole perception of our industry changes and at the end of their move they are all smiles.”
Bob has always been an outstanding representation of our organization and our industry.
