Supporting Operation Warm’s Local Coat Drive for Kids
We were excited to support Operation Warm through a local coat drive with SCPS and the Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department!
An estimated 1,165 students across the Stafford County area are projected to need coats to stay warm and healthy during the upcoming winter months. Thankfully Operation Warm knows exactly how critical and impactful this need is, and Hilldrup was excited to lend a hand!
On November 19, Hilldrup volunteered at the Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department with Mountain View’s firefighters and Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) from 8am – 11am to organize coats for future distribution. In attendance were Onie Girton, Senior Vice President, Sales and Client Services; George Roth, Vice President, Residential Sales; Hunter Watson, Manager, Client Services; and Bucky Burden, Director, Client Services who joined Hunter Berry, Assistant Director of Family & Community Engagement with SCPS among other volunteers.
Providing more than just warmth, a new coat maintains a child’s self-confidence, allows them to play outdoors during the winter months and ensures they help stay healthy and in school. To further support Operation Warm’s mission, Hilldrup donated $750 for additional new coats to be purchased for students in need.
We were happy to donate our time, efforts and money to this important cause that will keep kids warm and comfortable throughout the winter. Special thank you to Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department for hosting the event and all who helped make the event possible!
