Thanking Our Summer 2024 Interns

Hilldrup welcomed four outstanding interns to learn and grow with us during the 2024 peak moving season.

The summer months are some of the busiest for the moving and storage industry, emphasizing the need to have a team who is compassionate, knowledgeable and ready to take on whatever challenges and opportunities arise.

With this in mind, we were honored to welcome four outstanding interns to our organization for the summer 2024 season:

  • Marlon Dozier of Virginia Commonwealth University, Information Services Intern
  • Tianna Crawford of Mary Washington University, Human Resources Intern
  • Antonio “AJ” Coghill of Bucknell University, International Intern
  • Nya Davis of Virginia Tech, Marketing Intern

Each intern gained invaluable experience working in a corporate environment during their summer off from college. They worked closely within their respective departments, but also with Hilldrup leadership, to learn more about the moving, storage and logistics industry and how by applying their classroom knowledge and strengths, both interns and Hilldrup would have a mutually beneficial relationship.

“Our intern program is designed to provide college students with a valuable, hands-on experience that complements their academic learning,” shared Tamika Mitchell, Vice President of Human Resources. “This year, our goals were threefold: to mentor the next generation of professionals, to provide real-world experience in our industry and to foster a culture of learning and growth within the Hilldrup organization.”

As part of their internship with us, Marlon, Tianna, AJ and Nya were invited to community events representing Hilldrup and participated in team lunches at and outside of the office as well.

In fact, in late July, the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted their summer meeting, inspired by the theme “We Mean Business.” There, each of our interns attended alongside interns representing organizations across the Fredericksburg area, were recognized as part of Virginia Intern Day.

The interns enjoyed a luncheon at the office with several members of our Senior Management to learn more about other business lines and ask about career progressions, work life balance and more.

We are so grateful that we could be a part of their success story as they continue their studies and that they could be a part of ours as well. Thank you for choosing to intern with us, Marlon, Tianna, AJ and Nya!
